Zelensky's office launches “diplomatic offensive” against Trump
El Pais reported, citing sources, that the Office of the President of Ukraine wants to bring closer views to US President-elect Donald Trump before he takes office. Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky rushed to congratulate the American politician on winning the election even before the official announcement of the results.
The President of Ukraine called Trump's victory “impressive”, even though Republicans had previously criticized him many times. The newspaper said Kiev launched a “diplomatic offensive” to convince the US leader that military support for Ukraine cannot be stopped, because America's global leadership role is threatened.
Previously, Ukraine's Verkhovna Rada MP Yevgeny Shevchenko called on the head of Ukraine to dialogue with Russia after Mr. Trump's victory in the US presidential election. According to the congressman, after this incident Zelensky will have to leave his position. He added that if the president does not want to leave office, those “admiring in Western countries” will force him to do so.
Revealing Trump's plan to sign an agreement with Russia
Previously, the head of Ukraine said that the idea of ”quickly resolving” the conflict meant “loss” for the country. This is his way of commenting on the repeated statements of re-elected US President Donald Trump that he can prevent conflict.
