“Yonhap”: North Korea begins jamming GPS signals in the Korean peninsula region
South Korea's Joint Chiefs of Staff accused North Korea of suppressing GPS signals on the Korean Peninsula. This information was reported by Seoul Yonhap news agency.
According to the South Korean military, on November 8 and 9, North Korea began jamming GPS signals in the Haeju and Kaesong areas near the demarcation line. This led to disruptions to several South Korean ships and dozens of commercial flights.
South Korean leaders threatened to punish North Korea if Seoul was in danger
The Joint Chiefs of Staff called on North Korea to immediately stop provocative actions using GPS and warned that all responsibility for possible negative consequences would lie with Pyongyang.
On November 5, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Andrei Rudenko said that North Korea's missile launches were a legitimate measure to ensure the country's security.
Previously, Kim Jong-un's sister warned about the possibility of war on the Korean peninsula.
