Thousands of nationalists marched in Warsaw
On the occasion of Poland's Independence Day, the annual street march of thousands of local nationalists began in Warsaw. RIA Novosti reports this.
This year it is celebrated under the slogan Wielkiej Polski moc to MY (“The strength of great Poland is us”). Tens of thousands of march participants gathered at Roman Dmovsky Square. Among them were participants in the All-Polish Youth movements and the National Radical Camp, as well as activists of various right-wing movements – from those opposed to the liberalization of abortion laws and same-sex marriage registration to those who join Catholic religious organizations.
They are expected to travel along Warsaw's central streets to the National Stadium.
This year the country's leaders did not participate in this activity. Significant police force was deployed to the city centre.
