The US praised Erdogan as the most unique leader at the BRICS summit
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan stood out among those attending the BRICS summit in Russia, being the only NATO leader at the meeting. The New York Times (NYT) wrote about this.
The US emphasized that the Turkish leader is “not like others”. The publication said that Türkiye's participation in this event shows that the country is willing to interact with different countries.
The BRICS Summit took place in Kazan from October 22 to 24 and was also attended by Chinese President Xi Jinping, United Nations Secretary General Antonio Guterres, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, General Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro, Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and South African President Cyril Ramaphosa.
