The EU will discuss punishing China for Russian aid
The European Union (EU) is about to impose sanctions on China due to suspicion of supplying weapons to Russia. The German publication FAZ reports this with reference to sources.
It is alleged that the head of European diplomacy, Josep Borrell, informed EU members about these intelligence findings before the meeting of foreign ministers. He also called for a response because the evidence of China “providing lethal assistance” to Russia is “convincing.”
EU calls for sanctions against China for flying over Russia
According to one of the sources, Brussels' reaction will depend on Beijing's position on this issue. Discussions on sanctions are in the early stages.
Previously, Mr. Borrell said that foreign ministers of EU countries at the meeting in Brussels on November 18 would discuss the issue of introducing trade and political sanctions against Israel. We are talking about the possibility of banning the import into the EU of products produced in the Israeli-occupied territories of the Gaza Strip.
