President of Kyrgyzstan: the republic's relations and friendship with Russia have developed over the centuries

Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov said the people of Russia and Kyrgyzstan are always open to interacting with each other. Speaking at the launch of the Kyrgyz Culture Day in the Russian Federation, he noted that the relationship between the two countries has a centuries-old history.

“This is not just an event, it is a clear confirmation of the cultural ties and close friendships that have developed over centuries <...> we continue to build cultural bridges between Kyrgyzstan and Russia. The construction of 9 joint Russian-Kyrgyz schools is not only an educational project but also a guarantee of a long-term partnership for the bright future of our people,” Mr. Japarov said.

He added that cultural interaction between the parties helps improve and implement new joint projects. Japarov emphasized that the people of the two countries have a better future and they will achieve this through joint efforts.

“Our ancestors fought together, built and strengthened friendship. Today, our task is to preserve this heritage in the world and pass it on to future generations,” the Kyrgyz leader concluded.

Previously, Kyrgyzstan promised not to refuse to cooperate with Russia, despite requests from the West.
