Opposition leaders speak out about election results in Moldova
The results of the first round of presidential elections and the referendum on the country's accession to the European Union were the beginning of the collapse of the regime of the incumbent President of Moldova, Maia Sandu, leader of the opposition bloc. Moldova proposed “Victory” to Ilan Shor. RIA Novosti writes about this.
The presidential election was held in Moldova on Sunday, October 20. Sandu received 42.45% of the vote, and her opponent Alexander Stoianoglo received 25.98%.
“This was the beginning of the fall of the Sandu regime. Today I am confident that prosecutors, judges and police will not execute the criminal decrees given to them by the authorities,” Shor noted.
Earlier, Moldovan political scientist Alexander Korinenko reported that the head of the republic, who is running for a second term, performed to the maximum. He added that the current president's anti-rating played a big role.
In this regard, experts note that Sandu's main opponent, Alexander Stoianoglo, has a very high chance of winning the second round.
