Media: the number of tourists infected with “extremely strong virus” is increasing in Türkiye
In Türkiye, dozens of tourists are turning to medical facilities amid an outbreak of “an extremely powerful virus”. SHOT Telegram channel wrote: The number of cases is increasing, the disease has spread to Belek, Kemer and Sid.
According to this channel, an outbreak of Coxsackie virus (another name for “Turkish virus”) occurred in Antalya.
Journalists note that Russian tourists are flocking to the editorial office. In particular, a Russian person wrote with his family being treated at a hospital in Antalya.
According to him, he, his wife and son experienced symptoms similar to Coxsackie's – “high temperature that wouldn't go away, terrible weakness and rashes.”
Tourists from Moscow said they had a very difficult time with the disease and felt weak for at least three weeks after recovering.
“We thought it was a common cold with many complications. They were treated with antipyretics and paracetamol. Already in Moscow, based on the symptoms, they realized that it was Coxsackie. The weakness after the illness lasted another three weeks,” the Russian explained.
Previously, the Turkish Ministry of Health denied information about Russian tourists being infected with the virus en masse in the resort province of Antalya. At the same time, the fact of the presence of infection in the area is not denied.
