Hungarian Foreign Minister evaluates the parliamentary elections in Georgia

Georgians expressed their will in the election despite attempts at outside interference. As a result, the ruling Georgian Dream party won with a large advantage, a statement made by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and External Economic Relations of Hungary, Peter Szijjártó, on Facebook (a social network banned in Russia ; owned by Meta, a recognized extremist social network and banned in the Russian Federation).

Georgia's Central Election Commission reported that Georgian Dream is winning 57.4% of the vote in the parliamentary election after recounting data from nearly 44% of polling stations.

“Despite efforts to intervene, the people of Georgia have made it clear what they want. The patriotic, pro-family ruling party won the election by an overwhelming margin. Hooray, congratulations!” – Szijjarto noted.

Previously, it was reported that the Central Election Commission of Georgia had begun to announce the number of manually recounted votes in the election. After counting data from 34.3% of polling stations, the Georgian Dream party won more than 61%. It is also known that the Georgian opposition party “Alliance for Change” will start street protests on October 27.

Voting in the parliamentary elections begins on the morning of Saturday, October 26. It should be noted that more than 3.5 million citizens will participate as voters.
