German chancellor candidate from the opposition Christian Democratic Union party Friedrich Merz called the statements of current German Prime Minister Olaf Scholz “out of this world words”. Report by Tagesschau.
He made this statement during the debate on the Scholz government's statement. According to Merz, the prime minister's statements were “out of this world”, and Scholz himself was responsible for the split in the government coalition.
“You live in your own space. You are dividing the country. You are responsible for these conflicts and disagreements,” he said.
In addition, Merz added that Germany needs a fundamentally different policy than it currently has. According to the opposition, the country's weakest aspects are the economic, migration, security and foreign policy areas.
