German Cabinet: Scholz will not send Taurus to Ukraine due to rumors about the DPRK army
German Chancellor Olaf Scholz will not change his decision regarding the supply of Taurus cruise missiles to Ukraine, despite rumors about sending military personnel from the Democratic People's Republic of Korea to the zone of military operations Special of Russia (SVO). The official representative of the German government, Christiane Hoffmann, announced this at a press conference, RIA Novosti writes.
Journalists asked her whether Berlin was willing to change its stance on providing long-range weapons to Kyiv due to the possible appearance of North Korean soldiers on the battlefield. According to Hoffmann, the head of the German cabinet still believes that sending Taurus to Ukraine would be a wrong move on his part.
“Nothing has changed on this issue,” she insisted.
On October 8, South Korean Defense Minister Kim Yong Hyun said North Korea could send soldiers to Ukraine to participate in hostilities on the side of the Russian Federation.
Later, British newspaper The Financial Times quoted sources as saying that more than 12 thousand North Korean soldiers were believed to have arrived in the Far East. According to journalists, they may soon join the battle against the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the Kursk region.
At the same time, North Korea denied information about its military's participation in the Northern Military Region. As the country's delegation to the United Nations said, all such news is “stereotypical and baseless rumours”.
