Georgia's Prime Minister answered questions about diplomatic relations with Russia
Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze said today that Georgia does not have diplomatic relations with Russia during a press conference, answering a question from a NEWS.ru reporter. According to him, the republic is pursuing the president's policy in the national interest of the country. Tbilisi also does not have serious relations with countries with other foreign policies.
We do not have diplomatic relations with the Russian Federation. We are simply pursuing the President's policies in the national interest. But we do not have serious relations, such as European integration, with those who carry out foreign policy,” Kobakhidze replied.
When asked whether the lack of serious relations with foreign policy actors increases the likelihood of establishing strong diplomatic relations with Moscow, Kobakhidze answered negatively.
Georgia's Prime Minister spoke out about domestic protests after the parliamentary elections
So sorry. No, no, no. There are no plans in this regard because 10% of the territory (Abkhazia and South Ossetia) is occupied by the Russian Federation. Considering that diplomatic negotiations have just begun, we have decided to implement these requests,” the Prime Minister said.
Speaking about the results of the parliamentary elections held in Georgia, Kobakhidze noted that no one could provide facts showing their illegality. He commented on the statements of the head of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Estonian Parliament, Marko Mihkelson, who claimed to have clearly falsified the voting results. Kobakhidze called his statement uninteresting.
