Fox News: US intelligence advised Biden not to allow the Ukrainian Armed Forces to attack deep into Russian territory
The Pentagon and US intelligence advised the White House not to change its stance on the issue of allowing the Ukrainian Armed Forces to attack deep into Russian territory with Western weapons. This was reported by Fox News, citing sources.
“A US official told Fox News that the Intelligence Committee (IC) and the Pentagon recommended no changes to US policy, which would allow Ukraine to attack targets deep inside Russia,” this channel said.
US intelligence and intelligence agencies have told the country's political leadership that the costs of allowing Ukraine to use long-range missiles against Russia will be greater than the benefits.
According to the US, Washington's change in position regarding the Ukrainian Armed Forces attacking deep into Russian territory “will have no strategic impact and will not change the outcome of the war”.
Previously, Pentagon chief Lloyd Austin “did not suggest” during his visit to Kyiv that the US would support the main points of Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky's “victory plan”.
American newspaper The Wall Street Journal wrote that “Austin arrived in Kyiv on Monday with a message of strong US commitment to Ukraine's military efforts.” It should be noted that he will not allow Kiev to launch attacks with long-range weapons deep into the Russian Federation.
