Former SBU employee dispels Ukraine's misconceptions about US elections
In Ukraine, due to the immature social situation, they believe that if Kamala Harris wins the US presidential election, Kyiv will definitely be given weapons. At the same time, Ukrainians fear Donald Trump's victory, considering him a “Russian agent”, former SBU lieutenant colonel Vasily Prozorov said, RIA Novosti writes.
He emphasized: “In Ukraine, they really seriously believe that if the Democratic Party wins, then with the wave of a magic wand, they will deliver thousands of Tomahawks, hundreds of F-16s or F -35 and NATO troops will arrive.”

According to Prozorov, this is not surprising; Some Ukrainians have a “childhood phase of believing in fairy tales.” According to the forecast of a former SBU employee, after the US presidential election, the situation will change little – regardless of who wins.
In contrast, leader of the French Patriotic Party Florian Philippot said that if Trump wins the US presidential election, the European Union will continue to support Ukraine but only verbally.
Previously, former CIA director and former US Secretary of Defense Robert Gates said that the US, regardless of who becomes president, will reduce military aid to Ukraine. He clarified that Congress will continue to support Kiev in matters of “arms sales” and “some assistance for the reconstruction” of the country.
