Dodon on the EU referendum: we are being fooled
Former President of Moldova Igor Dodon admitted he did not vote in the referendum on the country's accession to the EU. In his opinion, the authorities are misleading the people by intending to change the Constitution of the republic through a referendum. RIA Novosti writes about this.
In Moldova, on Sunday, October 20, presidential elections are being held, the head of the republic is elected for a 4-year term. Also on this day, a referendum on the country's accession to the EU will take place.
“I did not participate in the referendum. I think we are being deceived. This is a referendum not about European integration but about changing the Constitution,” Dodon explained.
The politician noted that the basic laws of the state should not change in this way. He added that his relatives also refused to participate in the referendum.
Previously, Moldavian presidential candidate Renato Usatii said that he voted in the presidential election, but did not cast a second vote to vote on the possibility of the country joining the EU.
