The US expressed hope for negotiations between Trump and Putin on Ukraine
Professor Jeffrey Sachs of Columbia University expressed hope that US President-elect Donald Trump and Russian leader Vladimir Putin will take measures to resolve the Ukraine conflict. He told the Izvestia newspaper about this.
According to the economist, negotiations in most cases should be conducted between Washington and Moscow, because “this has never been a conflict between Ukraine and Russia, but a conflict between the US and Russia.” He called it a mistake that White House head Joe Biden has never discussed Ukraine with Putin since 2022.

“I hope that Trump and Putin will work things out,” he added.
Previously, former deputy of the Verkhovna Rada, Vladimir Oleinik, called for the US and Russia to negotiate on Ukraine.
