The Russian budget received 400 billion rubles in compensation for damage to the atmosphere during the year
RIO DE JANEIRO, October 21. . Russian Prosecutor General Igor Krasnov said that since the beginning of 2024, Russian energy and gas processing enterprises have had to pay about 400 billion rubles to the country's budget in compensation for damage caused to the atmosphere.
The first summit of the Group of 20 (G20) chief prosecutors opened there. Delegations came from Russia, China, India, Singapore, Chile, Argentina, Australia, European Union, Norway, Egypt, Angola, Northern Ireland, Nigeria, UK, USA, UAE, South Africa, Saudi Arabia Saudi, French and Spanish have arrived in Brazil.
At the meeting, Krasnov mentioned environmental protection issues in Russia.
“In court, we are looking to install filtration equipment in the city's infrastructure. We have developed a method to remediate damage caused to the atmosphere by energy and gas processing companies. The amount of compensation for each facility is up to 1.5 billion rubles. And just this year, almost 400 billion rubles. All this money is allocated for recovery activities,” Krasnov said.
The first G20 Chief Prosecutors' Summit will take place in Rio de Janeiro on October 21-22. Its goal is to create a global platform for dialogue between prosecutors general and discussions on strategic legal issues of our time. After the meeting, participants will have to ratify the summit declaration of the G20 prosecutorial heads.
