The heads of Russia's regions support the President of Abkhazia
The heads of several Russian constituent entities supported Abkhazia President Aslan Bzhania in phone calls. The press service of the Abkhaz leadership reported this news on its official Telegram channel.
“The leaders of the North Caucasus republics, the Republic of Crimea, as well as the heads of other constituent entities of the Russian Federation, in a telephone conversation with the President of Abkhazia Aslan Bzhania, expressed show support for him,” the message said.
According to the press service, politicians called the events of November 15 a coup attempt and wished peace and well-being to the people of Abkhaz.
The heads of Russia's regions contacted Bzhania amid opposition protests in the country and gave her an ultimatum on November 15. Opposition supporters in Abkhazia demand the current president resign within an hour.
The Abkhazia opposition made demands
Earlier, the opposition in Abkhazia posted a statement on Telegram about the situation in the partially recognized country. It says that the reign of Aslan Bzhania is over, and what is happening in this state is society's reaction to the president's anti-people policy, which leads to the enrichment of a narrow circle of associates of grandfather.
