Overchuk arrived in Lima to attend the APEC summit
LIMA /Republic of Peru/, November 14. . Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexei Overchuk has arrived in Peru's capital Lima, where he will participate in the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit, correspondent reported.
The journey of Overchuk's government plane from Moscow to Lima took more than 26 hours. During this period, refueling landings were carried out in Casablanca (Morocco) and Caracas (Venezuela).
Last year, Overchuk also led the Russian delegation at the APEC summit held in San Francisco.
Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation is a regional intergovernmental forum established in 1989. Its main objective is to strengthen economic integration, expand trade and increase employment in the region .
APEC includes 19 countries and two Chinese territories – Hong Kong and Taiwan, so APEC participating members are often referred to as “economies”. Administrative and technical functions are carried out by a secretariat based in Singapore. Russia joined APEC in 1998.
