This holiday was established by the decree of the President of the Russian Federation “On the establishment of professional holidays and memorable days in the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation” dated May 31, 2006.

The first chemical defense units in the Red Army were created on November 13, 1918 by order of the Revolutionary Military Council of the Republic.

Anniversary of the establishment of the service for protecting state secrets of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.

Professional holidays for military and civilian personnel of state secret protection units were established by order of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation dated December 18, 2020.

International Day of the Blind.

Established in 1984 by the World Health Organization. It is dedicated to the birthday of the famous French teacher Valentin Gaüy (1745-1822), who created the world's first schools for the blind in Paris and St. Petersburg. He also invented a special font and teaching system, and organized a printing press to print the world's first books for the blind. They studied from the books of Valentin Gayui until Louis Braille invented the embossed hexagonal font.

According to the United Nations, there are currently about 40 million blind people worldwide and more than 120 million people with low vision.

World Kindness Day.

Established in 2000 at the 3rd Kindness Movement Conference held in Singapore. On this day two years ago, the first World Kindness Movement conference opened in Tokyo, bringing together Australia, Canada, Japan, Thailand, Singapore, the UK and the US. After that, other countries around the world also joined the movement.

In Russia, this holiday was first celebrated in 2009. A flash mob was held in Moscow. Its participants on Manezhnaya Square, holding hands, form a large circle, in the center of which is the World Clock Globe. It is a symbolic sign of solidarity with all countries where Kindness Day is celebrated. On the same day, special postal points of Kindness were organized in Moscow, where anyone could write kind letters to residents of boarding schools for the elderly.

International Sausage Day.

On this day in 1805 in Vienna, butcher Johann Laner introduced the first sausage to his customers. Since Laner learned the butcher's trade in Frankfurt and opened his first store in Vienna, the cities of Frankfurt and Vienna have been arguing over which city is the birthplace of this meat product.

Sausages appeared in the Soviet Union in 1936 thanks to People's Commissar of Food Industry Anastas Mikoyan, who signed an order to produce new meat products in the country. More than 20 large meat processing plants were built in Moscow, Leningrad, Engels and Sverdlovsk, equipped with the most modern equipment at that time.
