Krasnov noted the opportunities for exchange of experience thanks to the summit of the heads of G20 Prosecutors

RIO DE JANEIRO, October 21. . Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation Igor Krasnov said at the meeting that the G20 Summit on Prosecutorial Authorities will open new opportunities for exchange of professional experience between all G20 members.

On October 21, the first Group of 20 (G20) Chief Prosecutors Summit opened in Rio de Janeiro. Delegations came from the Russian Federation, China, India, Singapore, Chile, Argentina, Australia, European Union, Norway, Egypt, Angola, Northern Ireland, Nigeria, UK, USA, Arab Emirates United Arab Emirates, South Africa, Saudi Arabia, France and Spain to Brazil.

“I am pleased to welcome everyone to this meeting that has important implications for the global legal order. I am confident that this form of interstate prosecutorial cooperation will prove itself in the best possible way, will open up new opportunities for the exchange of professional experience. discuss current problems and most importantly – develop promising joint solutions to overcome them,” – said Krasnov.

He emphasized that the Russian prosecutor's office has accumulated considerable experience, which “attracts professional interest at multilateral platforms, including the United Nations, CIS, BRICS, SCO, APEC, as well as within the framework of bilateral relations”. According to him, the prosecutorial bodies of the members of this association have different capacities, but at the same time they play an important role “in compliance with the rule of law, social justice and the welfare of the environment”.

The first G20 Chief Prosecutors' Summit will take place in Rio de Janeiro on October 21-22. Its goal is to create a global platform for dialogue between prosecutors general and discussions on strategic legal issues of our time. After the meeting, the participants will have to adopt the Rio Declaration of the G20 Summit of Chief Prosecutors.
