In Taiwan, completely driverless trains were launched at a speed of 100 km/h
Taiwan announced its first fully driverless train capable of reaching speeds of up to 100 km/h.
The ceremony took place on November 11, where the mayors of Taipei and New Taipei, Jiang Wan'an and Hou Yuyi, jointly announced the new composition of the Wanda-Zhonghe metro line.
The ship is manufactured by the French company Alstom. Its delivery is a massive logistical project, starting from a factory in Brazil, crossing the Atlantic and Singapore to reach Taiwan.
The new train is a key step in the first phase of construction on the line, which is expected to be completed in 2027.
The Wanda-Zhonghe Line will connect Wanhua, Zhonghe and Tucheng districts, reducing travel time between Zhonghe Senior High School and Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall stations to 14 minutes, twice as fast as the line current road.
The system is unmanned, fully automated, running on steel wheels. Each 4-car train can accommodate up to 700 passengers, providing modern amenities and comfort to residents.
