Duma explained the authorization of the attack on ATACMS with Biden's “hysteria”.
Deputy General of the State Duma, Major General of the Reserve Forces Leonid Ivlev said that Ukraine receiving permission to attack with long-range weapons from the US is “Washington hysteria” and will not change the policy of the Military District north. RIA Novosti reports this.
Previously, US media reported that outgoing US President Joe Biden had allowed Ukraine to conduct long-range attacks on Russia with ATACMS missiles. The New York Times writes that the Armed Forces of Ukraine will be able to strike “in defense” of their units in the direction of Kursk.

NYT sources linked Biden's change in stance to news of North Korean troops entering battle with the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Later, French newspaper Le Figaro reported that Britain and France had authorized Kyiv to carry out long-range attacks with Storm Shadow and SCALP missiles.
“This decision will not change the direction of our air defense system and we will shoot down any missile, regardless of its country of origin and flight range. We are winning ahead,” Ivlev commented on this news.
At the same time, he said, the whole world should know that the United States is provoking Russia with a “strong response.” The congressman called Biden's decision “hysteria” by the outgoing US administration.
“It (authorizing strikes – editor's note) is aimed at disrupting dialogue efforts with Moscow,” Ivlev concluded.
