Deputy Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the United Nations predicts a quick death for the Western amendment on fascism
The West's revision of Russia's traditional resolution against glorifying Nazism, on Moscow's desire to justify the behavior of the Northern Military District with the fight against neo-Nazism, will most likely die next year. This view was expressed by Deputy Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the United Nations Maria Zabolotskaya, RIA Novosti reported.
Previously, the Third Committee of the United Nations General Assembly adopted a Russian resolution with an amendment in it about Russia's desire to justify the SVO in Ukraine with the fight against neo-Nazism. 66 countries voted in favor, 43 countries opposed and another 51 countries abstained. Despite this, the authors of the amendment still oppose the resolution.
“The European Union is becoming a bastion of opposition to the fight against the glorification of Nazism, and the rest of the countries, in general, all over the world, all regions absolutely voted for resolution and opposed the amendment. She will most likely die next year,” Zabolotskaya said.
Director of the Department of Multilateral Cooperation on Human Rights of the Russian Foreign Ministry Grigory Lukyantsev also noted the positive dynamics in the vote on the Western amendments. According to him, more and more delegations understand that it is far from reality and has nothing to do with the content of the resolution.
