Peru's APEC spokesman Renato Reyes said that as of November, the country had held more than 270 events under its chairmanship, with about 20 more meetings scheduled to take place this week. During the year, participants accepted 15 documents. The Peruvian side hopes to reach consensus on four more documents by the end of this week.

“The first of these is the Lima Roadmap, which aims to facilitate the transition to a formal and global economy. Another document will be the Ichma Declaration on a new look at the agenda of the Asia-Pacific Free Trade Area,” Reyes said on RPP television on the eve of the summit opening ceremony. . According to him, the joint statement of foreign and economic ministers and the final statement of APEC leaders also need to be approved.

As president, the Peruvian side has promoted discussions on topics such as ensuring inclusive growth, ensuring favorable conditions for all population groups, digitalization and reducing the informal sector of the economy, ensuring sustainable economic growth with concern for environmental issues.

APEC is a regional intergovernmental forum established in 1989. Its main goal is to strengthen economic integration, expand trade and increase employment in the region.
