Unreal Gold and Unreal Tournament are available for free trials via the Internet Archive
The Internet Archive, with Epic's permission, has added Unreal Gold and Unreal Tournament to its library – anyone can try the games for free.
The organizers of the “Archive” themselves try to protect various information accumulated on the network and maintain free access to it for users. You could say that in some sense, the Archive collects the history of the Internet – and Unreal Tournament can certainly be called an important part of it.
The games were added to the “Archive” at the end of October, but the networks only recently noticed this. Epic themselves also noted that they have indeed given the green light to include the games in the archive library:
We confirm that Unreal 1 and Unreal Tournament are available on archive.org and users are free to follow the links and play these versions (of the projects).
Epic has been creating a new part of Unreal Tournament since 2014, but by 2018 it became known that this version of the shooter was no longer actively developed.
The development of these events was influenced by the success of Fortnite – the game that essentially took all of Epic's attention.
That's right, the authors of the new animated anthology Secret Levels did not forget Unreal Tournament, where various stories based on 15 games will appear.
A novel animated film with a star cast (Keanu Reeves, Arnold Schwarzenegger) from the creator of “Love. Death. Tim Miller's Robots will be released on December 10.
