The best mods for Dragon Age: Origins
The original Dragon Age: Origins was a great game, but technically it has aged quite a bit. Playing without modifications is difficult: for the game to work properly on modern computers, you will have to install at least fan patches. PC Gamer Portal has explained how to install mods for Dragon Age: Origins.
Mandatory patches for Dragon Age: Origins
Dragon Age: Origins was developed on the Eclipse engine – according to BioWare, there are only a maximum of 20 people left in the studio who understand how it works. This means that the game still has errors, some of which are quite serious. Without a patch, Dragon Age: Origins will run poorly on even the most powerful PC.
You can fix the game's performance (even partially) by using two fan patches. Firstly – 4GB patchthis allows the game to use more RAM. By default, it only uses 2 GB. And the second one – Fix performance and memory leaks. Both patches are easy to install on the EA App and GOG Galaxy versions of the game, but owners of Steam copies will likely have to follow separate instructions from the workshop.
How to install mods for Dragon Age: Origins
Almost all mods for the game exist in one of two formats. Some just need to be copied into a folder BioWareDragon Agepackagescoreoverrides in the “My Documents” folder – and they will automatically turn on the next time you start the game. And others are downloaded as dazip files.
