Storybook Vale: what we know about the second expansion for Dreamlight Valley

In November, Disney Dreamlight Valley will receive its second expansion, The Storybook Vale. This time, players will be tasked with restoring peace to a land divided by two of the best villains in Disney history. PC Gaming Portal has told us what we know about this add-on.

Storybook Vale release date

The new expansion will be released on November 20, 2024. It is not yet known what story it will tell, but players will definitely have access to three new biomes and three new characters that can invited to the valley. The next part of the storyline is expected to come out in summer 2025 but there is no exact release date yet.

Unlike the first expansion, A Rift in Time, The Storybook Vale will be divided into two parts – not three. Therefore, both parts will be larger and you will have to wait a little less to continue. Purchasing the expansion automatically gives you access to both parts of the DLC: no need to spend extra money on the ending.

What is The Storybook Vale?

Storybook Vale is the second expansion to Disney Dreamlight Valley and will tell a completely new story with new characters. Players will have to restore torn pages from the enchanted book: they take the form of the cutest origami people. Therefore, the plot will begin with the player receiving a staff with which he can capture cute fugitives and return them to the book.

Users will also enjoy three new biomes: The Bind, Ever After and Mythopia. The first one looks like a cozy autumn forest, while the second is inspired by Scottish and Scandinavian folklore. Tuesday will be ideal for those who miss Hercules.

Additionally, this add-on will add new animal companions to the game. The Bind will have owls, Ever After will have baby dragons, and Mythopia will have pegasus ponies. Each biome will receive unique resources and flora, such as poppies, porcini mushrooms and bougainvillea, as well as new fish species – koi carp and catfish.

What characters will appear in The Storybook Vale

Four characters have been confirmed so far:

• Help
• evil
• Merida
• Flynn Ryder

The developers also hinted at a fifth secret character, but so far there has been no confirmation that he actually exists. According to the announcement presentation, Hades and Maleficent will be the central villains of the plot, while Merida and Flynn Rider will appear in two new biomes.

Merida and Flynn's roles are currently unknown, but The Storybook Vale could be a great reason for a reunion between Flynn and Rapunzel, who played a role in the previous expansion. And of course, players will be able to invite all the characters to their valley or floating island.

The only one who stands out from the others is Maleficent. Although she has an important role in the plot, she will appear more frequently during the events of the second part of the expansion. Additionally, the puzzle that appeared during The Storybook Vale's introduction hinted at Aurora's appearance – which would make sense considering Maleficent's role.
