Roblox will be making major changes in its policies for the safety of children
In recent years, the Roblox sandbox has become incredibly popular, especially among young gamers. Unfortunately, the larger the game's audience, the more cases of cheating and even crimes against players. For the safety of children, Roblox policies will be making serious changes.
The developers are committed to making Roblox “one of the safest gaming environments”. Letters about the upcoming changes have begun to be sent out via email. Children under 13 now require parental permission to access chat features. Children under nine need parental permission for content that may contain “mild violence and crude humor.” Yes, there's even one in the low-poly sandbox!
Once the required age threshold is reached, the restrictions will automatically disappear. And in November, special “parent” accounts will appear in Roblox. You can link your child's account to theirs to track their activity in the game and have more control.
Let us remind you that over the summer, Roblox was at the center of a child abuse investigation. The developers were also accused of a number of sins, including lying to investors.
