How to farm money in Metaphor: ReFantazio: guide
In Metaphor: ReFantazio, saving money is sometimes difficult, even when you shop at the store on a sale day. After all, you need to stock up on healing potions, periodically update your equipment, and evaluate items found in dungeons. However, in fact, at the beginning of the game, there is a win-win way to earn money – it requires only one prototype. PC Gamer portal has shared a guide for those who want to make money quickly.
One of the best ways to earn money at the beginning of the story is by killing monsters merchant archetype. It can be unlocked by upgrading intelligence to level 2 and improving your relationship with Brigitte, who becomes a supporter after completing one of the side quests.
At first glance at this merchant, you might think that he is completely useless. What's the use of the prototype using money to attack? But don't underestimate him. The main advantage of the merchant is a unique passive skill that gives you the opportunity to receive bonuses for defeating (or stunning) monsters in the open world. If the main character's level is high enough to kill monsters with a single blow, each enemy is almost guaranteed to carry 500 coins.
Below is a detailed method to make money as a merchant.
- Go where there are many enemies. For example, go to the capital desert, where one of the original side quests is being done.
- Destroy all sandworms and stray dogs within range.
- Return to the entrance to the location using the cat statue – this will revive the slain monsters.
- Repeat the process until you feel tired.
The only word of caution is that, for open-world one-hit kills, The main character's level must be at least 3 levels higher than the monster's level. Most enemies in the desert are around level 11 – meaning you'll need 14-15 points to kill them. By the time you unlock the seller archetype, the party may have crossed this threshold.
The profits are substantial. About five rounds in the desert yield about 140,000 coins in 20 minutes. If you are patient enough to kill sandworms longer, you will earn more money. Whatever one may say, grinding is nothing new to JRPG fans. Although theoretically it is not necessary to wander in the desert. You can simply switch to being a merchant in any other dungeon where your level is higher than the monster's level.
It should also be noted that making money in Metaphor: ReFantazio is completely unnecessary. The game already rewards you with a sufficient amount of money, enough for all necessary (even expensive) purchases.
