At the start of the Metro Awakening segment, you will be able to see life in the subway and shoot mutants
A recording has surfaced online showing the start of Metro Awakening for virtual reality. The first seven minutes will be filled with various events, but the first players will be able to observe the life of urban residents. People at the station chat about everyday topics and warm themselves by the fire. If you want, you can stay in the room and even play the guitar yourself – thanks to a VR headset.
However, the first shootout will come very soon. The player will stand behind a fixed machine gun and start shooting mutants coming from the tunnel. However, the mutants have penetrated deeper. Because of this, it was necessary to destroy the escape to the surface, but the main character did not have time to run far enough and was injured.
The video ends with the player having to close the tunnel entrance to escape. His friends were left outside, eaten by mutants. In an incredibly moving scene, a character leans against a gate and is tormented by the sounds of his comrades being slaughtered by monsters.
Also before that, the developers published some short videos. They showcase various moments and puzzles from Metro Awakening. For example, you will be able to see small and annoying spiders, Kalashnikov assault rifles, advanced crossbows, etc.
Let us remind you that Metro Awakening received a rather lengthy gameplay video. It shows a secret passage to one of the locations and a meeting with a mutant.
Metro Awakening will be released on November 7. The story takes place even before the events of the original Metro 2033 – a doctor must find his ailing wife and medicine for her. The story is written by the creator of the Metro universe and virtual reality will allow you to interact with your environment in an extremely realistic way.
