Apple will create a game store
Apple plans to create a new digital game store that is deeply integrated into iOS and other proprietary operating systems. This was reported by 9to5Mac.
Media journalists said information about the IT giant's plans came to them from reliable sources. Apple is planning to launch a digital storefront where games from the App Store and Apple Arcade will be available. The new application will also receive Game Center functionality – a platform for gamers.
In a separate app, gamers will be able to share status, statistics on completed games, and add other players as friends. According to insiders, it is clear that Apple intends to launch a service similar to popular gaming applications for gaming and communication.
The service will also be integrated with FaceTime and iMessage so gamers can video conference and message each other. The new program is expected to appear in the iOS 18 or iOS 19 update in 2025.
The authors recall that Apple has its own Arcade service with mobile games. A subscription to the service costs $6.99 per month.
At the end of October, it was reported that Rockstar Games studio will release the original Red Dead Redemption game for PlayStation 5. A remaster of the title will also be released on PC.
