5 things Dragon Age: Veilguard doesn't tell you
Dragon Age: The Veilguard is a huge game filled with quests, characters, and all kinds of secrets. The tutorial does a great job of introducing players to the basic mechanics, but the game doesn't explain some of the nuances. IGN portal talked about the points you should know in advance.
The location did not fully open immediately
In The Veilguard, when you first visit a particular location, usually during the main storyline, the map will not be fully opened. Chests and some merchants are available, but may not have side quests, fast travel beacons, or collectibles. They will appear only after completing the story mission – the game will even warn you about this with a separate message.
Companion skills help you explore the world
Noticed a chest or altar on the map but can't reach it? Don't worry – you probably don't have the right skills yet. Return to the location afterwards, enlisting the help of your desired companion. Each party member has a unique ability that helps them explore the open world. For example, Bellara interacts with magical artifacts and Davrin can summon his beasts to reach greater heights. These abilities will be unlocked once the character officially joins the party. In addition, you do not need to bring your companion to use his abilities.
Skill points can be reset (almost) at any time
Veilguard doesn't let you change your character's class, but it does let you reset spent skill points to change your build. Points can be obtained by leveling up and finding hidden altars in the open world.
And resetting your character's build is easy: just go to the skills menu and select the appropriate option. The game even allows you to change specialization if you suddenly want to try some other advanced profession after level 20. Furthermore, this option is not only for the main character but also for companions.
There is only one limitation – skill points cannot be reset or redistributed directly during battle.
Some tasks have an expiration date
Due to the structure of The Veilguard, some side quests and companion quests will become unavailable after a certain point in the story. And the game often doesn't warn you that the mission might be blocked. Therefore, you should complete the quests that interest your team members as soon as you receive them.
Don't waste time on high-level opponents
If you suddenly encounter an opponent much higher than your level (there will be a skull icon above their health indicator), then you better leave immediately. It's better to return to such a battle later. Yes, fighting with much stronger enemies can be fun, but the game will not reward such victories with any rewards. Wait until the level gap becomes smaller (2-3) and try again.
