VGTRK complained to the United Nations about crimes against Russian journalists
The All-Russian State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company (VGTRK) appealed to the United Nations and UNESCO due to international organizations ignoring crimes against Russian journalists.
This is how VGTRK responded to the draft report of the Director General of UNESCO on the safety of journalists and the issue of impunity for the period 2022-2023. In its response, VGTRK drew attention to the report's failure to mention crimes against journalists from Russia. For this reason, the company also accused UNESCO of lacking objectivity and tolerance. At the same time, VGTRK's response was sent to UNESCO Director General Audrey Azoulay, as well as UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres.
VGTRK believes that: “The draft document demonstrates a complete lack of objectivity and tolerance, and its publication would discredit the international organization, evidence of UNESCO's complete political participation” .
