This photo of an Amur tigress from Primorye National Park appears on the cover of a book published to mark the 60th anniversary of one of the most prestigious wildlife photography competitions – Wildlife Photographer wild of the year.

According to information from the Land of the Leopard National Park, the author of the photo is Sergey Gorshkov. In 2020, with this photo, he received the title “Wildlife Photographer of the Year” and won the grand prize of the competition.

The winning photo captured a rare moment – tigress T 41F tenderly embracing a hundred-year-old fir tree. The organization also noted that Russia took first place in this category for the first time.

“I was extremely touched to know that my photo was chosen as the cover for such an important book. This is a great honor for me and a recognition of the importance of environmental work in Russia, which attracts the attention of the whole world.” Sergei Gorshkov emphasized.
