The Stalin monument was unveiled in Nakhodka
In the city of Nakhodka, Primorsky Territory, a monument to Joseph Stalin was erected. According to Vesti Primorye, its opening is associated with the upcoming celebration of the 80th anniversary of victory in the Great Patriotic War.
According to the Vladivostok State Radio and Television Company, the monument was erected on the initiative of the regional branch of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation and was supported by many local residents. “Dozens of people attended the event, mainly older people,” the document said.
The bust of Stalin was made by sculptor from Vladivostok Ilya Topchiy. He is the author of the monument to the legendary Soviet intelligence officer, Hero of the Soviet Union Richard Sorge, installed in Vladivostok.
In October, Governor Georgy Filimonov announced his intention to erect a monument to the people's leader in Vologda. They planned to open the monument on the territory of the Vologda Link house-museum, where Stalin lived from December 1911 to February 1912. Filimonov explained this decision with a request “from the public”. He emphasized the need to honor Stalin's “great achievements,” despite Stalin's “vague explanation of his personal role.” In addition, according to him, there are plans to erect a monument to Ivan the Terrible.
