The actor who starred in the movie “The Marriage of Balzaminov” passed away
Russian actor, dancer and teacher of theater and cinema Anatoly Gridin has passed away. According to the Mariinsky Theater website, he was 94 years old.
The message said that Anatoly Vasilyevich Gridin passed away tonight at the age of 95. The Mariinsky Theater staff expressed their sincerest condolences to the family and friends of Anatoly Vasilyevich, his friends and students.
The obituary said: “An accomplished dancer and master of plastic mime, he is remembered by audiences as a charismatic artist who combined the academicism of classical dance with Incredible expressive acting ability.”
Anatoly Gridin served at the Novosibirsk Opera and Ballet Theater in 1945-50. Then he was enrolled in the troupe of the Kirov (Mariinsky) Theater.
The artist participated in productions by Oleg Vinogradov, Leonid Yakobson and Yuri Grigorovich, became the first to perform the role of Severyan in Prokofiev's The Stone Flower and and Vizier in Melikov's The Legend of Love.
In 1981, Anatoly Gridin starred in the teleplay Anyuta, playing the role of Sir. In 1989, he played a general in the film Balzaminov's Marriage.
