Russia received the bodies of 37 dead soldiers

Russia and Ukraine actually exchanged the bodies of servicemen killed in the zone of special military operations, RBC wrote with reference to State Duma Deputy Shamsail Saraliev. According to him, the Russian Federation has returned the remains of 37 soldiers.

The parliamentarian confirmed that the Ukrainian side had received the bodies of 563 of their fighters. Saraliev did not provide any other details about the exchange.

The headquarters for coordinating the treatment of Ukrainian prisoners of war clarified that of the 563 soldiers, 320 died in the fighting in the Donetsk direction, another 89 in the Bakhmut (Artemovsk) direction. The remaining 154 bodies are believed to have been transferred from a morgue in Russia.

Russian Federation Human Rights Commissioner Tatyana Moskalkova previously reported that she met with Ukrainian Ombudsman Dmitry Lubinets in Belarus. They exchanged letters from prisoners to relatives and discussed cooperation in helping citizens of the two countries.

Russian Foreign Ministry representative Maria Zakharova previously reported that this year the Russian Ministry of Defense proposed to transfer 935 Ukrainian prisoners of war. However, according to her, Kyiv can only carry 279 people. This diplomat also emphasized that the Russian side has never refused dialogue on the issue of exchanging prisoners of war.
