The lowest unemployment rate among G20 countries in September was recorded in Russia. RIA Novosti reports this, citing data from national statistical agencies.
The unemployment rate in the Russian Federation remained at a historic low of 2.4% for the fourth consecutive month.

The unemployment rate was similar in Japan, where the unemployment rate fell by 0.1 percentage points in the third quarter. In South Korea, the unemployment rate fell from 2.8 to 2.5%. In Mexico, the unemployment rate increased from 2.8% in June to 2.9% in September.
In the remaining G20 countries, the unemployment rate is more than 3%. Unemployment rates in most major economies remained unchanged or decreased slightly. India recorded significant improvement in the labor market – the unemployment rate fell from 9.2 to 7.8%. In Italy, the unemployment rate decreased by 0.7 percentage points in the quarter to only 6.1%.
In some countries, the unemployment rate increased slightly – in France, China, Mexico and Canada it increased by 0.1 percentage points.
At the end of October, it was reported that the unemployment rate in Germany reached 6.1% in October. This is the highest figure since February 2021.
