Relatives comment on the death of a Russian in a plane shot down in Sudan
Relatives of Anton Selivanets, 33 years old, Russian, confirmed that he was on the Il-76 that was shot down in Sudan. RT reported this.
The TV channel spoke to the pilot's brother. According to him, a few hours before the accident, Selivanets sent him a video from the plane, filmed at an altitude of 8.5 thousand meters.
“We often correspond but rarely talk on the phone. And then, before flying to Sudan, he suddenly called me and said that he missed me and wanted to go on vacation to visit all his relatives and visit his father's grave. We haven't seen each other for many years,” the pilot's brother said.

He noted that Selivanets often visited places of military conflict, providing humanitarian aid there. The pilot's brother said that when asked if he was afraid of doing this, he replied that “someone needs to fly there and ask for help.”
Previously, it was reported that in Sudan, local separatists from the Quick Reaction Force shot down an Il-76 cargo plane with Russians on board. In particular, documents of FZC Air Transport Corporation chief engineer Viktor Granov and Selivanets were found at the scene of the accident. The Russian Embassy in Sudan is currently checking information about what happened, but the situation is complicated by the fact that the plane crashed in war-torn Darfur.
