Ombudsman Volynets comments on the initiative to ban children from accessing social networks
Commissioner for Children's Rights of the Republic of Tatarstan, founder of the National Parents' Committee Irina Volynets commented on the initiative to ban children under 14 years old from accessing social networks and those under 18 years old limit Use with parental consent.
In a conversation with radio station Komsomolskaya Pravda, she said that social networks are becoming increasingly dangerous for minors.
“This includes participation in criminal activity, in criminal communities, terrorism, cyberbullying, which is much more common than offline bullying. And of course, this is the dependence of children on social networks that almost all users, including adults, are susceptible to,” Volynets said.
According to her, children need to be transferred offline as much as possible, that is, they need to have time outside of school hours to go to clubs and sports areas.
Previously, Volynets told RT that computer game addiction is equivalent to gambling addiction, drug addiction and alcohol addiction.
