NYP: North Korean soldiers addicted to porn in Russia
North Korean soldiers participating in military operations in Ukraine on Russia's side have unlimited Internet access for the first time. It is reported that they actively use it to view pornographic material. This was reported by the New York Post (NYP), citing a message from Financial Times reporter Gideon Rahman on social network X (Twitter).
“In general, a reliable source told me that North Korean soldiers stationed in Russia have never had unlimited Internet access before. As a result, after receiving it, they started watching pornography,” Rahman wrote.
Speaking to NYP, US Department of Defense spokesman Charles Dietz could not confirm this information but focused on the more serious aspects of North Korea's participation in Russian military activities.
“This sounds interesting, but I can't confirm that North Koreans have any Internet habits or virtual 'extracurricular activities' in Russia,” Dietz said.
NYP also notes that the impact of Internet access on psychologically and culturally protected North Korean soldiers is unknown.
