Izvestia: VSP identifies 10 million Russians without access to painkillers
The All-Russian Association of Patients (VSP) has identified 10 million Russians without access to painkillers. Izvestia writes about this.
According to VSP, pain management is currently only strictly prescribed for those in palliative states (end-stage terminally ill patients), despite the fact that several other patient groups are also hurt. Furthermore, according to the Health Protection Law, every patient has the right to receive pain relief.
The Ministry of Health did not respond to VSP's appeal on this issue but told reporters that the use of painkillers for pain relief is now “fully regulated”. It should be noted that pain itself is often a general disorder, manifesting regardless of the underlying cause and requiring treatment. Previously, smoking has been reported to interfere with the action of pain relievers and antihypertensive medications.
