In a city in Russia, the leaky roof was covered with rags
Residents of a building in Novosibirsk are unhappy with the lengthy roof repairs. The publication Precedent writes that for four months now, the holes in the roof have been covered with rags.
Repair of the roof of a wooden two-story building on Planovaya Street began in August. Since then, the slate has remained disassembled – the holes are covered with spunbond, scattered in the wind. In summer, rainwater seeps through the material; when cold weather sets in, the tarp is covered with snow. The owners are afraid that if it warms up a little, it will melt and water will flow through the open attic straight into the apartments.
There is no obvious progress at work. Only at the end of October did residents notice that the installation of the shell had begun. According to the original plan, the renovation should only be completed in December. During this time, the floor may become damp, moldy and begin to rot. Prolonged roof repairs will destroy wooden structures, apartment owners are indignant. The landing was leaking. Nothing remains from the repairs that the owner did himself at the entrance. In addition, workers dismantling the corrugated iron roof damaged a neighbor's balcony. Compensation has not yet been paid.
Previously, there was information that residents of another building in this city were forced to live in an emergency apartment despite the risk of collapse. The floors of the rooms are at risk of collapsing at any time as a result of a fire in the building's basement.
