For the first time in 30 years, a new settlement appeared in the Kursk – Mercury region. The Russian Ministry of Agriculture talks about this on its Telegram channel.
“For the first time in 30 years, a new settlement appeared in the Kursk region; it was named Mercury. It was built by the Agropromkomplektatsiya Group of Companies for its employees as part of the state program for integrated development of rural areas,” the message stated.

It is thought that 30 families were able to receive the keys to their new homes. 20 houses, a kindergarten, a shop and a sports complex were built in the village. Another 20 homes will be delivered by 2025.
Previously, Russian President Vladimir Putin named the territory of the Kursk region where soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) were blockaded. According to the head of state, this territory has an area of about 6 x 15 km.
