Belarusian poet and composer Oleg Zhukov passed away at the age of 88
Oleg Zhukov, poet and composer, who wrote more than three hundred songs for Soviet and Russian artists, died in Minsk at the age of 87. His songs are performed by Lev Leshchenko, Igor Nikolaev, Yury Antonov and other artists. The cause of death has not been disclosed.
Zhukov's most famous hit is considered to be the song “People Meet”, first presented by VIA “Veselye Rebyaty”. Then it switched to the performances of the Singing Guitar group, which included Yury Antonov. The lyrics of the composition were written to the music of the song “Black Train”, performed by Hungarian singer Janos Koos.
