Australian businessman plans to build a village in the Urals
The founder and director of the first Russian Museum in Sydney, Mikhail Ovchinnikov, said that in the spring of 2025 he plans to start construction on the “Old Believer Village” in the Sverdlovsk region.
According to him, the settlement will include 250 houses worth up to 10 million rubles.
In addition, schools, kindergartens, churches and other social infrastructure will be built on the territory of the village, Gazeta.ru noted.
The village will be for descendants of Old Believer families in Russia who want to return to Russia. But all “good people” could, if they wished, live in the settlement.
It will appear 100 km from Yekaterinburg.
